I have been using this foundation for just over a year now for all events that I’ve worn makeup to. It has been my go to foundation as it’s the only drugstore one that i found with no SPF, which means no unwanted flashback in photos.
I mix together two shades, “pure beige” (235) and “classic ivory” (120), and i also mix in the Revlon Photoready Skinlights illuminator to give the appearance of a healthy glow. I find that it gives a medium, buildable coverage so if you wish to achieve a fuller coverage, you can. The foundation itself gives a completely matte finish which is another reason as to why it’s great for flash photography.
One negative thing that i have to say about this product is the fricken’ packaging! How is it that they’re still making foundations that don’t have pump bottles?! The process of having to try pour the foundation on to the back of your hand, too much coming out and then wasting product and the excess dripping down the bottle is just so frustrating! No one should have to go through such trauma!
My Application Process:
I firstly always use primer before applying any kind of foundation or BB cream as it makes my makeup last longer and doesn’t allow it to seep into my pores. I sometimes even use primer when I’m not wearing any makeup as it provides a great protective layer for my skin from dirt and grime throughout the day. I then use a flat foundation brush to essentially paint the foundation all over my face and i blend it all in with a damp Real Techniques Miracle Complexion sponge to give an airbrushed finish. Lastly, I use a pressed powder to set the foundation which prevents any oil and helps it last longer on my face. This gives a fairly medium to full coverage, but if you’d like less you can apply less.
HINT: You can buy Real Techniques products for a really cheap price on iHerb!
