…I don’t even have words to explain this highlighter and how much i love it…
So i originally bought this highlighter after hearing and seeing the hype about it on YouTube as I’m sure many other people did and it did not disappoint. It comes in a fairly regular sized compact with 8g of product inside and a mirror that takes up the entire space of the lid. The packaging itself isn’t anything too glamorous, it has a soft, matte rubber base (like the NARS packaging), and a metal top that just says BECCA on it. The packaging is definitely of high quality though.
The powder is so extremely pigmented and smooth to touch. Whether you use your finger or a brush, you hardly need any product at all which makes it really long lasting. I love that the highlighter only has a bit of shimmer in it rather than having glittery pieces. I find that it gives your face a more healthy, natural glow rather than looking like a disco ball. An example of an overly glittery one from what I can tell in store when swatching it is the Urban Decay Naked Illuminated Shimmering Powder for Face and Body. It’s just sooooo glittery that i feel like it would look just a tad ridiculous.
BECCA have an amazing range of shades to choose from for all skin colours. I have the shade ‘Opal’ which I find is perfect for my skin tone. It’s like a cross between a rose gold and a champagne colour and could probably be too dark for some really pale skin tones. I often pair the BECCA highlighter with a cream highlighter underneath for extra glow, although it really isn’t a necessity like how it would be with other highlighters as this one is so pigmented.
An 8 gram compact has an RTP of $62 which is fairly pricey compared to most other brands that are sold at Sephora and Mecca however, I haven’t yet found a highlighter that compares. The only one that has impressed me when swatching in stores is the HOURGLASS Ambient Lighting collection which I haven’t purchased as I already have the BECCA one. If you’re just starting out your makeup collection then there are definitely cheaper alternatives that are also great quality but if you’re a low-key makeup addict like I am then I’m not sure how you don’t have this already… XD
Let me know if you’ve ever tried any BECCA products and what you thought of them.
