Kylie Matte + Metal Liquid Lipstick Review

I love the liquid lipstick trend so much that I can’t even remember how I got by prior. I love how long lasting they are, the pigmentation and how I’m able to apply them so accurately. I have a huge variety of liquid lipstick brands in my collection and last Christmas I was able to get my hands on 2 of the Kylie Cosmetics matte liquid lipsticks.

The 2 shades that I have are ‘Heir’ and ‘Koko K’.

Koko K (left) Heir (right)

Heir – $18USD – 3.00ml

This shade is a metallic matte rose colour which looks really pretty on the lips because it’s like a very subtle red, with a bit of shimmer. I definitely don’t have anything like this in my collection. It’s also interesting to note that on the Kylie Cosmetics website, the picture looks NOTHING like the actual thing. Another thing the website says is that “it does not ever dry down on your lips, lips remain moisturised and comfortable with a shimmering metallic finish”. …um.. no. This dried down completely on my lips and felt very drying and not moisturising at all. I could constantly feel that I was wearing it and when i put my lips together they would stick together really uncomfortably. I found that if I applied a little bit of gloss that it would almost completely fix this problem so I’d definitely recommend that.

Koko K – $17USD – 3.25ml

I absolutely LOVE this colour and I have nothing like it in my collection. It’s extremely pigmented and I find it to be a very wearable matte light pink. I only had to reapply once when i wore it and that was after food. Just like Heir, I find this to be really drying on my lips. It’s uncomfortable and I can constantly feel that it’s there. I think it’s slightly not as bad as Heir, as I was able to wear it all day today without applying gloss.

Koko K

Overall I wouldn’t recommend them to anyone or repurchase them as I know that there are significantly better options out there on the liquid lipstick market for a better price. I would even say the NYX Lip Lingeries and Liquid Suede lipsticks are better and more comfortable to wear.

You can only purchase these lipsticks and other Kylie Cosmetics products from the website.
