Revlon Photoready Pressed Setting Powder

I have not been very experimental with setting powders. For my entire makeup wearing life (which has been quite a while because i did dancing as a child) I have only worn the Revlon Powder. So on the one hand, I don’t really have anything to compare it to, but on the other hand, I’ve never found a problem with it.

I love that it is very full coverage so it can be worn alone or over liquid foundation. It’s so smooth, mattefies my skin beautifully so that i don’t get oily throughout the day/night and it doesn’t get patchy on my skin. I do find that my laugh lines and forehead lines still manage to make their way through during the night. However this could be due to the foundation that I’m wearing (Too Faced, Born This Way). I’ll have to do a bit of experimenting to get to the bottom of that.

I’m in the shade 030 Medium/Deep. It is quite a bit darker than my skin tone but I like that it can make lighter foundations that i may normally wear in winter, match me in the summer. I do normally apply it with quite a heavy hand, however since doing my friend’s makeup who is quite a bit fairer than what I am, I noticed that if you use a lighter hand it’ll add a tiny bit of colour without looking too dark. I also like to blend it all the way down my chest just to a) blend my makeup a seamlessly as possible and b) make my complexion look a bit more tanned. It does have tiny bits of glitter in it which I have literally just noticed so don’t fear, if glitter isn’t your thing it doesn’t show up because i know that i 17101919_1452367554796289_202999342_ndefinitely wouldn’t want my face to look like a disco ball.

The packaging feels very sturdy and you can see the colour through the packaging which can be helpful when choosing your shade, however I’d much rather sacrifice this and have a larger mirror. For such a large package, the mirror is tiny and it can be really frustrating when you’re on the go and trying to fix up your makeup.

This product retails for $36AUD which is expensive for a drugstore product. Although I enjoy it, I would like to try something new and go for maybe the Australis Fresh & Flawless powder.
