I’ve recently fallen in love with the Becca blush in the shade “songbird” from the Blushed with Light Palette. I love that it’s a more neutral tone so I bought this blush during Priceline’s 40% off cosmetics sale in the hopes that it would be a dupe or at least similar.
As you can see in the photo above, the Becca blush is much darker with a more orange/peach undertone whereas the Essence blush is much lighter and more neutral.
The packaging of this blush isn’t anything fancy, but it’s a great size and is really everything that you need from a blush packaging. I like that it’s nice and compact and doesn’t take up too much space. I don’t mind that there’s no mirror because it’s not like I’d use a mirror that small anyway.
I’ve been really enjoying using this blush as it’s super pigmented and adds a really nice natural warmth to my cheeks. I love the satin finish as it looks really natural and blends really nicely on my skin.
However, if your skin tone is anything lighter than a tan, then this will look like a bronzer in you as it’s definitely quite a bronze, warm shade.
This product retails for $5.10AUD which is an amazing price for such a beautiful blush and I’d definitely recommend it and purchase other shades. Essence also has matte blushes so if satin isn’t your thing, check out the mattes. You can purchase Essence products from Priceline or their website.
